PREDAVANJE
Education in the era of generative Artificial Intelligence
Content of the talk: Generative Artificial Intelligence has attracted significant attention over the past year, sparking numerous predictions about its impact on education and work. The key question remains: how does the required knowledge change in this context? It is essential to distinguish between wanting to “learn” something and wanting to “do” something. The lecture will present some adaptations that ensure knowledge acquisition and assessment remain manageable, comparable to the period before the development of generative AI. The focus will be on tasks and evaluation in environments where learning is the primary goal. However, an even more important question is how the necessary skills evolve. One of the fundamental changes is the decreasing importance of the skill of “writing long, well-structured texts.” The main challenge is to adapt educational approaches using artificial intelligence and to rethink what we aim to teach students in each subject.
