Digital is the New Electricity: The Role of Education in a Post-Digital World

Jannie Jeppesen, Chairwoman of the European EdTech Alliance, discusses the pressing need for digital strategies in education. With 90% of jobs now requiring digital skills and nearly half of Europeans lacking basic proficiency, the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan sets an ambitious target: 80% digital literacy by 2027. Jannie will highlight the importance of equipping citizens with the skills necessary for work, democracy, and everyday life, and how education systems must adapt to meet these challenges in a world where digital has become as essential as electricity.
